The Faculty offers highly innovative and ambitious programs in research and teaching. Its teaching program consists of three bachelor degrees (BSc in Economics, BSc in Econometrics and Operations Research, and BSc in Business Administration), one English-spoken BSc International Business Administration, eight English-spoken Master of Science programs and thirteen postgraduate programs. The faculty's research activities are organized in specialized research groups of excellent international reputation. The faculty has 5100 full-time students enrolled and 1500 postgraduate students. More than 500 academics are employed at the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration.

ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT: The department of Accounting participates in the teaching programs of the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration. The research activities comprise both fundamental as well as applied research projects in Accounting and Auditing. All research activities are concentrated in the department's research center ARCA (Amsterdam Research Center in Accounting). The department has currently 40 academics employed.

ABOUT THE CHAIR: The chair falls within the field of the economic analysis of financial reporting and taxation behavior. The main focus is on the analysis of regulation in both areas, financial reporting and tax decisions by organizations, as well as monitoring and supervision of financial reporting and tax behavior. The chairholder will be responsible for teaching and research in Financial Accounting, Tax and Compliance. Teaching will contribute to both the bachelor and master programs in Economics and Business Administration.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS: The candidate should:
- have a PhD in economics or business administration;
- have published widely in excellent international peer-reviewed academic journals;
- be an outstanding academic researcher with a publication record that is clearly relevant to the proposed profile of the chair;
- be an experienced teacher in Bachelor and Master programs, and in postgraduate programs in accounting, auditing and compliance;
- possess a teaching qualification;
- be experienced in supervising of young scholars and PhD students;
- be able to communicate effectively with practice about academic research and teaching;
- be capable of attracting research projects from national research; foundations and commissioned research projects from private parties;
- be capable and willing to participate in the management of the section Financial Accounting and of the Department of Accounting.
