Lecturer in Accounting

The above full time permanent post is available from September 2013 and the School of Management invites applications from excellent candidates in any area of accounting. Salary starting from British Pound 37,382, rising to 44,607 Ref: SC1439.

JOB DESCRIPTION: The Accounting and Finance Group, located within the School of Management, has a strong focus on research excellence and the successful candidates will be expected to actively participate in and contribute to the strategic research and teaching objectives of the Group. Research interests of the group integrate with finance and management methodologies and include equity valuation models, public sector performance measurement and management, financial reporting and earning quality in not for profit entities, environmental accounting and CSR and assurance.

The Group's teaching portfolio includes a number of specialist masters' degrees and an undergraduate program in accounting and finance. In addition, the Group teaches on the School's more general management programs. The School of Management was ranked fifth (out of 90 universities) in the UK for research excellence in the most recent Research Assessment Exercise and is highly ranked in league tables of places to study accounting and finance in the UK. The School hosts the CIMA Centre for Excellence, which is funded by the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants, and the Centre for Governance and Regulation, and has an active group of researchers investigating public, not-for-profit, and private sector financial and management issues.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS: Applicants should possess or be near completion of a PhD in accounting or a related discipline, with a clearly identified publications strategy, and be able to identify a forward looking research agenda.
