RANK, SALARY AND BENEFITS: We seek to fill this position at the Assistant or Associate Professor level. Rank and salary are dependent upon the appointee's qualifications and experience. JOB QUALIFICATIONS: An earned doctorate from an accredited institution in Accounting or related field is required at the time of appointment. A successful dissertation defense by appointment date will satisfy this requirement. The successful candidate must demonstrate teaching effectiveness in financial accounting, auditing, and/or governmental and non-profit. An interest in finance and/or statistics courses is a plus.
The successful candidate should demonstrate the following:
- Commitment and/or experience promoting and fostering a learning environment that is supportive of individuals from diverse backgrounds;
- Potential for effective teaching or teaching experience using a variety of methodologies;
- Ability and/or interest in teaching a broad range of courses; and
- Record of, or potential for, research and scholarly activity involving students.
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
- Experience and/or interest in sustainability;
- CPA, CIA, or international equivalent;
- Public accounting experience; and
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
At the time of appointment, the successful candidate, if not a U.S. citizen, must have authorization from the Bureau of Citizenship and Immigration Services to work in the United States. Evidence of degree(s) is required at time of hire.
JOB DESCRIPTION: The primary professional responsibilities of instructional faculty members are teaching, research & scholarship with graduate and undergraduate students, and service to the University, profession and to the community. These responsibilities include: advising students, participation in campus and system-wide committees, maintaining office hours, working collaboratively and productively with colleagues, and participation in traditional academic functions.
ABOUT THE SCHOOL: The School of Business supports approximately 500 business majors and an innovative one year MBA program. The School works collaboratively with the Office of Economic, Community & Business Development, one of California's six lead Small Business Development Centers, and various other business and economic development leaders in helping meet the region's business, economic, workforce development.
