Position in Managerial Accounting and Control

The Richard Ivey School of Business is Canada's premier business school and is recognized worldwide for the quality of its management education and research. The School's major activities include: a highly regarded MBA program and undergraduate honors program; a well-established doctoral program; as well as an expanding portfolio of programs for executives, including an Executive MBA delivered in Canada and Hong Kong. The School is globally oriented in terms of curricula, research, faculty, and student exchanges. The School seeks candidates for a tenured Associate Professor/Professor position in the area of Managerial Accounting and Control, for appointment to begin in July 2013.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS: The successful candidate will hold a PhD or equivalent in accounting or related discipline, and have demonstrated a strong commitment to the practice of managerial accounting and control in both research and teaching. Proven ability to teach the core accounting course, as well as accounting elective courses in degree-granting programs with the case method is required. The potential, or demonstrated ability, to teach in executive development programs in Canada and/or Hong Kong is desirable. Cross-disciplinary teaching experience is preferred; as is a Chartered Accounting designation. PhD teaching experience, preferably in a leadership role is an advantage. A demonstrated ability to contribute to the School's research mission is essential, as evidenced by a sustained record of research excellence. The successful candidate will also have demonstrated leadership in their institution, academic organizations, and/or major academic journals.

Outstanding candidates for Limited Term or Visiting appointments will also be considered.

ABOUT THE SCHOOL: The School is located in London, Ontario, a community of 340,000 equidistant from Toronto and Detroit. The Canadian Executive MBA facilities are located at the Exchange Tower in downtown Toronto. A campus is also located in Asia at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Center. The School is part of a larger University community with approximately 29,000 full-time students.
