Director of Research

The Institute of Management Accountants (IMA) invites candidates to apply for its Director of Research position.

JOB DESCRIPTION: The Director of Research will work with the VP - Research to sustain IMA's role as a valued thought leader. IMA's research agenda includes research in the areas of Enterprise Risk Management, Leadership Strategies & Ethics, Strategic Costing Management, Technology Enablement, and Business Performance Management. The Director will be responsible for helping develop and disseminate applied research for accounting and financial management professionals, working with the Chair of the IMA Research Foundation to help manage approved projects, working on initiatives supporting the academic community, and related functions.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS: Degrees or Certifications strongly preferred: MBA/PhD in Finance or Accounting; CMA; CFM; CPA. Candidates should have a minimum of 5 years' business experience in accounting and financial management in the areas of decision support, planning and/or control and a minimum of 3 years' experience in research or equivalent technical position. They should also possess professional communications skills, including the ability to make presentations and writing to audiences of all levels, and excellent organizational and project management skills. This position will require limited travel outside IMA's Global Headquarters office. Off-site employment will also be considered.
