The John T. Steed School of Accounting anticipates one faculty opening for the academic year 2013-14 at the rank of Assistant Professor.
Anticipated Faculty Position in Accounting - Academic Year 2013-2014
- Educational: Candidates must possess an appropriate doctorate or be near completion. Candidates must have academic training which indicates the potential for significant high quality academic research.
- Research: Candidates must demonstrate potential for research by their doctoral dissertation, publications and working papers.
- Teaching: Candidates must be able and willing to teach at both the undergraduate and graduate level. Candidates should normally possess some prior teaching experience and provide evidence of quality teaching performance.
EVALUATION: Teaching potential for candidates invited to campus will be evaluated, in part, by the candidate's presentation of a paper to our faculty and graduate students. Candidates are encouraged to submit evidence of teaching effectiveness through submission of student or peer evaluations of their teaching.
Research potential for candidates will be evaluated in part by their dissertation topic and methodology. Research leading to publication in high-quality journals is required for promotion and tenure. Faculty members are expected to engage in teaching, research, and service activities. New assistant professors have minimal service obligations for a period of three years.
We offer both graduate and undergraduate courses in most areas of Accounting. Degree programs include the bachelors, masters and doctoral degrees.
