The ESSEC KPMG Financial Reporting Centre invites financial accounting candidates to apply for a post of research assistant, post doc position. Teaching is optional and gives rise to additional pay. English is the working language but some knowledge of French would be an advantage.
Research Assistant/Post Doc Position
JOB DESCRIPTION: The successful candidate is expected to be an active co-researcher and co-author on various research projects with the Centre's directors: Paul Andre, Thomas Jeanjean and Peter Walton. The ESSEC-KPMG Financial Reporting Centre specialises in financial reporting under International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS). Created in 2005, the year in which European listed companies started to use IFRS, the Centre monitors closely the activities of the International Accounting Standards Board and the application of IFRS by European companies. The Financial Reporting Centre aims to be a centre of excellence for reporting to the capital markets. It aims to publish studies of relevance to practitioners and research that contributes to the body of academic studies in international accounting and financial reporting.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS: Applicants should have a good knowledge of international financial reporting and a proven research record or show strong potential for research. A PhD or equivalent in financial accounting is required. Employment is for a maximum of one-year, preferably from September 2012 to August 2013.
