The Department of Accountancy, Weatherhead School of Management, Case Western Reserve University, Cleveland, Ohio, invites applications for a faculty appointment on the tenure track at the experienced Assistant Professor or Associate Professor level beginning Fall 2013. Rank commensurate with experience. The appointment at the Assistant level would be without tenure. The Associate Professor appointment would be either with or without tenure based upon the candidate's qualifications, the criteria of the School and the expectations of the Department.

ABOUT THE SCHOOL AND DEPARTMENT: The Department has 10 full time faculty and supports a comprehensive range of courses at the undergraduate, graduate and executive levels. CWRU is a private, non-sectarian, research and educational institution which enrolls nearly 10,000 students with approximately 600 enrolled in the School of Management. The University is located in the cultural center of Cleveland, University Circle, the home of the Cleveland Orchestra, as well as the Cleveland Museum of Art and similar institutions.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS: Applicants must possess an earned Ph.D. from a currently AACSB accounting accredited university. Applicants must provide recent evidence of high quality teaching. Candidates also must demonstrate a record of high quality research including published refereed papers, accepted papers and papers in progress which fit well with the Department's set of core quality journals.
Excellent oral and written communication skills are required. Candidates must possess an active U. S. CPA license and have demonstrated knowledge of relevant authoritative U.S. practice standards. Applicants should document recent relevant professional interaction. Candidates with a specialization in behavioral research as a primary area, with complementary interests to teach and research in fields such as financial, auditing, accounting systems or managerial are preferred. It is expected that all candidates will be capable of effectively teaching accounting principles at the undergraduate and graduate levels. The Department offers a B.S. in Accounting and a Master of Accountancy degree program and supports M.B.A. offerings and doctoral study in the discipline. Both the School and the Department are AACSB-accredited.
