Associate Professor of Accounting
We are seeking an outstanding Accounting academic to
provide dynamic and effective leadership for the Accounting
and Finance Discipline on James Cook University Australia's
Brisbane Campus. The Brisbane campus delivers business,
accounting and IT degrees at undergraduate and postgraduate
levels, with strongly industry integrated programs and
uniquely rewards excellence.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
The appointee will be expected to provide leadership in
teaching, research and academic administration in
undergraduate and postgraduate programs at the Brisbane
Campus. You will be responsible for representing the
discipline at the Brisbane Campus, coordinating Accounting
and Finance activities there, and leading the development
of its discipline research profile there.
In addition, you will contribute to and foster
collaborative and collegial teaching, professional and
research activities into the School, and Faculty across
other campuses of the wider University. There would be
scope for exciting international initiatives, inter-working
across all four campuses where JCU offers programs - in
Townsville, Cairns, Brisbane, and Singapore.
It is essential that you be a member of CPA Australia
and/or the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia
(ICAA), or be eligible for membership and progress to
membership of one of these bodies. Additionally, you will
have demonstrated an ongoing commitment to involvement with
the profession, and commitment to fostering both discipline
specific and interdisciplinary research.
EMPLOYMENT TYPE:
Appointment will be full-time on a continuing basis subject
to a probationary period. You will be employed by Russo
Higher Education, the operator of James Cook University's
Brisbane campus, and will hold an Adjunct Associate
Professor appointment of James Cook University.

Scope exists for a negotiated performance linked seed
funding grant for outstanding contribution to the research
on the campus or significant contribution thorough
involvement in our association with the Sarina Russo Group
of companies.
