Due to the growth in student numbers James Cook University
Brisbane Campus is looking to make appointments to the
position of Associate Lecturer, Lecturer and Senior
Lecturer. We are seeking highly motivated and highly
motivating Accounting academics to provide dynamic teaching
in the Accounting and Finance Discipline.
The Brisbane campus delivers business, accounting and IT
degrees at undergraduate and postgraduate levels, with
strong industry integrated programs. We uniquely reward
both staff and students who demonstrate excellence.

JOB DESCRIPTION:
The appointees will be expected to provide excellence in
teaching and associated academic administration on the
campus, and foster effective collegial relationships with
corresponding academics on other JCU campuses. There is
scope for exciting international initiatives and inter-
working across all four campuses where JCU offers programs -
in Townsville, Cairns, Brisbane, and Singapore.
You must be a member of CPA Australia and/or the Institute
of Chartered Accountants in Australia (ICAA), or be
eligible for membership and willing to progress to full
membership. Additionally, you will be expected to
demonstrate an ongoing commitment to involvement with the
profession. For appointment at the Senior Lecturer level
you should have been awarded a Higher Degree. At the
Lecturer level, a Higher Degree is considered desirable.
You will be expected to contribute to research and/or
professional activity at a level commensurate with the
level of your appointment
EMPLOYMENT TYPE:
Appointment will be full-time on a continuing basis subject
to a probationary period. James Cook University Brisbane is
a campus of James Cook University operated as a joint
venture with Russo Higher Education Pty Ltd.
SALARY:
Negotiable at or above market rates to attract quality
applicants. Salary includes employer superannuation and
attractive options for salary packaging. In addition, scope
exists for negotiated performance bonuses for outstanding
contribution in teaching or research or professional
activities.
