         George L. Argyros School of Business and Economics

                   Faculty Position in Accounting


     The George L. Argyros School of Business and Economics at
     Chapman University invites applications for a tenure track
     position in Accounting at the rank of Assistant or
     Associate Professor with an expertise in experimental
     science. The appointment would include affiliation with the
     newly created Economic Sciences Institute (ESI) at Chapman
     University. The ESI begins full operations in the fall of
     2008 with five professors, including Nobel laureate Vernon
     Smith, John Dickhaut, David Porter, Steven Rassenti, and Bart
     Wilson, and additional faculty and staff to be added in the
     coming months. The ESI will provide state-of-the art
     laboratories and extensive programming support for experimental
     research in economic systems design, neuroeconomics, economic
     theory and related areas of experimental economics. The ESI
     will be interdisciplinary in scope involving researchers in
     accounting, economics, finance, mathematics, psychology, and
     other disciplines.


     ABOUT THE UNIVERSITY:

     Chapman University is a comprehensive liberal-arts based
     university located in Orange County, California. The
     University has an enrollment of approximately 6,000
     students and offers a full complement of undergraduate
     degrees as well as graduate professional programs. The
     Argyros School of Business and Economics is fully
     accredited by AACSB and offers bachelor's degrees in
     accounting, business administration, and economics as well
     as the MBA and EMBA. The School currently has 800
     undergraduates and 200 graduate students who attend classes
     in a modern 100,000 square foot state-of-the-art facility.


     JOB DESCRIPTION/QUALIFICATIONS:

     This position offers a competitive salary and teaching
     load, as well as summer research support. Teaching
     interests in financial accounting, managerial accounting,
     and/or auditing are preferred. Applicants must have a
     doctoral degree or be near completion. Excellent teaching
     is required and classes are kept small (25-35 students) in
     order to foster interaction between students and faculty.

     This position provides a unique opportunity to join a
     world-class institute and explore fundamental issues in
     accounting using the methodology of experimental economics.
