CALL FOR PAPERS
FINANCIAL ACCOUNTING AND REPORTING SECTION
AMERICAN ACCOUNTING ASSOCIATION
2010 MIDYEAR MEETING
January 22-23, 2010
San Diego, California
We are pleased to announce that the 2010 Midyear Meeting of
the Financial Accounting and Reporting Section (FARS) will
be held in San Diego, CA, at the Westin San Diego, 400
W. Broadway, San Diego, CA 92101; Phone: (619) 239-4500 on
Friday and Saturday, January 22-23, 2010.
OVERVIEW:
In organizing the FARS Midyear Meeting, the Section decided
that two objectives should be achieved: (1) the conference
should be open to and serve all members of the section, and
(2) a special effort should be made to provide
opportunities for doctoral students and assistant
professors with interests in financial accounting and
reporting. As a result, the Section strongly encourages
submissions that have been authored (or co-authored) and
will be presented by assistant professors or doctoral
students. To indicate that a submission meets this
criteria, please include an asterisk (*) at the end of the
title of the paper.
PAPER SUBMISSION PROCEDURE:
The deadline for submission is Tuesday, September 1, 2009.
A submission fee of $50 is required. Papers must be
submitted electronically through the SSRN conference
management system at:
http://hq.ssrn.com/conference=AAA-FARS-2010
A blind review process will be used in selecting research
papers to be presented at concurrent sessions during the
conference. Acceptance decisions will be announced by
December 1, 2009.
Individuals interested in volunteering to review papers or
serve as a session discussant are encouraged to do so using
the "Volunteer for the Conference" link on the SSRN
Submission page (see url above).
To complete a submission, you will need the following
information:
- There is a submission fee of $50 U.S. payable via
Mastercard, Visa, Discover, or American Express
- Abstract (maximum of 150 words)
- Two versions of the paper in PDF format, one version that
includes author information ("named" file) and one
version that does NOT include author information ("blind"
file)
- Names, contact information (email and postal addresses,
voice and fax numbers), and affiliations for all authors
not already in the SSRN database
- Name of contact author
COPYRIGHT AND DISTRIBUTION RIGHTS:
During the submission process, you will be asked whether
you hold the copyright for the submission, or sufficient
rights, to submit the abstract (and full-text paper if
submitted) to SSRN. You MUST select "Yes" to complete your
submission. Answering "Yes" to this question allows SSRN to
make the paper available to reviewers and conference
coordinators. It will NOT make the paper or abstract
available to the entire SSRN community.
SUBMITTING AUTHOR MUST CHANGE STATUS:
If the person submitting the paper (the "submitter") is
also an author of the paper, the submitter must change
his/her status to "author" during the submission process.
