CALL FOR PAPERS

                             HALF-YEARLY
       JOURNAL OF CONTEMPORARY ACCOUNTING AND ECONOMICS (JCAE)
                        AUSTRALASIAN SYMPOSIUM

                            July 5, 2008
                          Sydney, Australia


     INTRODUCTION:

     Jointly organized by The Hong Kong Polytechnic University
     and the University of Technology, Sydney, this first JCAE
     Australasian Symposium will be held at University of
     Technology, Sydney, Australia.

     This symposium provides a platform for accounting,
     economics and corporate governance academics especially
     from Australia, New Zealand and Asia to present cutting-
     edge research findings.


     PROGRAMME:

     The one-day symposium comprises one Research Forum and five
     Plenary Paper Sessions.


     PAPER SUBMISSIONS:

     Manuscripts should be submitted in MS-Word format to:

     Manuscripts previously published or currently under review
     by other publications must not be submitted. All
     submissions are subject to a double-blind review process.
     To ensure anonymity in the review process, authors must not
     identify themselves directly or indirectly in the body of
     the paper.

     Submissions must be received no later than March 31, 2008.
     Authors can expect to be notified of the review outcome by
     May 30, 2008.

     One author of each accepted paper for the Plenary Paper
     Sessions will receive accommodation (single occupancy) in a
     designated hotel close to the University of Technology,
     Sydney for two days, waiver of registration fee and
     reimbursement for the cheapest return economy airfare
     within the Australia and New Zealand region up to a maximum
     of A$400.


     RESEARCH FORUM SPEAKER:

     Professor Ross L. Watts is a professor of accounting at
     Sloan School of Management of Massachusetts Institute of
     Technology. He is the founding editor of the Journal of
     Accounting & Economics and was awarded the American
     Accounting Association's Seminal Contributions to
     Accounting Literature Award in 2004 and the Outstanding
     Accounting Educator Award in 2000.


     CO-EDITOR FOR THE HALF-YEARLY JCAE AUSTRALASIAN
     SYMPOSIUM:

     Professor Greg Clinch is a professor of accounting at
     University of Technology, Sydney. He is a member of
     editorial board of Journal of Accounting Research,
     Australian Accounting Review, Accounting and Business
     Research, and Accounting and Finance.

     ABOUT JOURNAL OF CONTEMPORARY ACCOUNTING AND
     ECONOMICS (JCAE):

     The Journal is dedicated to publishing high quality
     manuscripts that rigorously apply economics and legal
     theory to accounting/auditing with an emphasis on empirical
     research. While there is a special focus on issues relevant
     to the Asia-Pacific region, the Journal also encourages
     submissions from countries outside the Asia-Pacific region
     in the following major areas as related to accounting and
     auditing issues: financial contracts, corporate governance,
     capital markets, financial institutions and economics of
     organizations.
