CALL FOR PAPERS
THE CHINESE ACCOUNTING PROFESSORS' ASSOCIATION OF
NORTH AMERICA'S FIRST ANNUAL RESEARCH CONFERENCE
June 11-13, 2008
Shanghai, China
The Chinese Accounting Professors' Association of North
America (CAPANA) invites both members and non-members of
CAPANA to submit theoretical and empirical papers in all
areas of accounting for the first CAPANA Annual Research
Conference to be held in Shanghai on June 11-13, 2008. We
welcome both China related and non-China related papers.
The objective of the annual conference is to bring together
accounting scholars in North America and Asia to discuss a
small number of accounting-related papers.
CONFERENCE DETAILS:
There will be approximately 6-8 papers to be presented at
the conference. Papers should be well developed, but at a
stage where they can still benefit from the group's
discussion. The format of the presentation is similar to a
regular workshop except that there will be discussant for
each paper.
The 2008 conference will begin with a welcome reception at
5-8 p.m. on Wednesday, June 11, 2008 and will end at 2 p.m.
on Friday, June 13, 2008.
PAPER SUBMISSION PROCEDURE:
The deadline for submitting papers is February 1, 2008.

When submitting a paper, please include separately:
(i) the properly filled in Submittal form (available on the
conference website:
http://www.cuhk.edu.hk/acy2/capana/download/2008submittalform.doc
(ii) a title page of the manuscript with author names and
affiliations, and (iii) the manuscript without author names
and affiliations. Only PDF and Word files are accepted.
A blind review process will be used in selecting the 6-8
research papers to be presented at the conference.
Acceptance decisions will be announced by March 1, 2008.
TRAVEL, LODGING, AND REGISTRATION FEE:
All conference participants are responsible for their own
travel and lodging expenses. Please see the conference

Except for the invited discussants and presenting authors,
all conference participants are required to pay a
registration fee of US$200 for CAPANA members and US$300
for non-members. The registration fee includes conference
materials, receptions, breakfasts, lunches and the
conference dinner.
