2007 looks to be SSRN's best year ever! In the past six months, the
SSRN eLibrary (http://ssrn.com/search) grew to 153,000 documents, the
number of authors with papers in SSRN grew to 77,000, and we
surpassed 15 million downloads to date. Our continued support of
Open Access, providing free submissions to and downloads from the
SSRN eLibrary, allowed our readers to freely download over 3.7
million full text PDFs in the last year. Last month, we began
distributing HTML abstracting eJournal email issues and will expand
their use over the summer. In addition, our new Simple Submission
process is developing very nicely and will be fully released in the
fall. All in all, an exciting first half of 2007.
As I wrote in December, we continue our role as a catalyst for
scholarly innovation through the creation, expansion, and connection
of different communities. To help facilitate this innovation we
continue expanding our content areas. We announced the Social and
Environmental Impact Network (http://ssrn.com/sein) sponsored by the
Aspen Institute Business and Society Program's CasePlace.org
(http://www.caseplace.org) earlier this year and will formally
announce the following networks later this summer:
- Health Economics Network - sponsored by the International Health
Economics Association (http://www.healtheconomics.org)
- Humanities Research Network
-- Classics Network
-- English and American Literature Network
-- Philosophy Network
- Political Science Network
We are also working with The Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation
(http://www.kauffman.org) to continue the rapid expansion of the
Entrepreneurship Research & Policy Network (http://ssrn.com/erpn).
Our mid-year break is scheduled for Monday, 25 June through Sunday, 8
July 2007. During the break, SSRN's abstracting eJournals will not be
distributed so that we can perform maintenance on our servers. We
will continue to provide support for downloads, submissions, and
subscriptions. For any requests during the break, please contact
UserSupport@SSRN.Com or call 877-SSRNHelp (1-877-777-6435). Outside
of the United States, call 00+1+585+4428170.
If I can be of assistance or if you have suggestions on how to
improve SSRN, please contact me at Gregg_Gordon@SSRN.com or

Thank you!
