Faculty Position in Finance - Req#1701736/ROTM2017-18

The Rotman School of Management at the University of Toronto invites applications for one full-time teaching-stream appointment in Finance. The appointment will be at the rank of Assistant Professor, Teaching Stream and will commence July 1, 2018.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS: Candidates must have a graduate degree, with a specialization in finance, economics, or related discipline by the time of appointment or soon thereafter. A PhD is preferred. We seek enthusiastic and innovative individuals pursuing an award-winning career in university teaching. Candidates must have a demonstrated record of outstanding teaching excellence, have a strong ability to integrate both theory and practice through effective communication and presentation skills, stimulate and challenge the intellectual capacity of faculty and students, communicate effectively, and show a demonstrated mastery of his or her subject area. Experience and demonstrated commitment to excellent pedagogical practices and a demonstrated interest in teaching-related scholarly activity are also required. This can be demonstrated through excellent course evaluations, a coherent teaching statement that is linked to evidence of excellent pedagogical practice, and the teaching dossier submitted as part of the application, as well as strong endorsements by referees of high international standing reflecting on both excellent teaching and evidence of commitment to pedagogical enquiry and teaching innovation.

Demonstrated experience teaching finance at the undergraduate and graduate levels is required. The applicant should be capable of teaching a range of undergraduate and graduate level finance courses, contributing to the ongoing improvement in the Finance curriculum and facilitating linkages with the business community. Teaching duties are in the undergraduate and graduate programs. Experience organizing project-based activities is desirable as is professional experience in the financial sector.

Salaries are competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience.
