Assistant Professor Position in Finance

The Department of Finance, Insurance, and Real Estate at the University of Florida is seeking to hire a tenure-track faculty member to start fall 2018. Position availability is at the Assistant Professor level, which may be filled by either a new or experienced Assistant Professor.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS: Candidates must have a Ph.D. (or near completion) in finance or economics. The successful candidates must demonstrate potential for research leading to publications in top refereed journals and effective teaching at the university level.

JOB DESCRIPTION: This position carries responsibilities in the areas of teaching, research, and service. The position will include a teaching load of three semester courses per academic year at the undergraduate and/or graduate levels as well as high-level research and some service.

Preference will be given to candidates with a strong track record of publications in top-tier finance journals or ample evidence of the ability to publish in such journals.

Salary will be commensurate with experience and qualifications and will be competitive with top business schools. The college also offers Research Grant funding during the summer commensurate with peer universities.
