Assistant Professor of Finance

The Department of Finance at DePaul University is seeking applications for one tenure-track position as an Assistant or Associate Professor of Finance, depending on qualifications. The position is scheduled to begin in the Fall of 2018.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS: Applications are welcome from candidates with interests in all areas of Finance, including Asset Pricing, Corporate Finance, Portfolio Management, Banking, Behavioral Finance, Financial Econometrics and International Finance. Candidates must have a strong commitment to excellence in teaching and demonstrate the capacity to conduct quality research and publish in the top finance journals. Depending on her/his academic expertise, the applicant will teach undergraduate graduate courses in finance. Rank will depend on the record of research and teaching accomplishments. Applicants must have a Ph.D. in finance or a related discipline and evidence of potential excellence in teaching and research.

Candidates must have a record which qualifies them for an appointment as a tenured professor of finance including:
- An outstanding research record and agenda evidenced by publications in the very top-tier finance journals leading to a national reputation as a scholar.
- Evidence of outstanding teaching at both the graduate and undergraduate levels.
- A Ph.D. in finance or a related field.
- The ability to interact effectively both with colleagues in the department and with the professional investment community.
- The willingness to take a leadership role in developing new and creative programs for both DePaul's students and the Chicago investment community.

ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT OF FINANCE AT DEPAUL UNIVERSITY: The department currently consists of a faculty of 13, including five clinical professors. It is the home of the Driehaus Center for Behavioral Finance, the Arditti Center for Risk Management and the Center for Financial Services. Going into its 11th year, the department jointly hosts an ongoing Risk Management Conference with the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago. We offer M.B.A. specializations in Finance, Corporate Finance, Investment Management, Banking, Risk Management, and Financial Analysis. Additionally, we offer a Master of Science in Computational Finance, a Master of Science in Finance, a Master of Science in Enterprise Risk Management and a Master of Science in Wealth Management. The department provides Compustat, CRSP and other data sets as well as research assistance, including access to WRDS database. Our Finance Lab provides the faculty and students with access to a large number of platforms and data feeds including Bloomberg, Morningstar Direct, Capital IQ, and Thompson Financial.
