Join FMA on Tuesday, 17 October 2017, from 6:00 p.m. - 10:00 p.m., at the Boston Harbor Hotel (70 Rowes Wharf, Boston, MA 02110) in Boston, MA, to discuss issues related to financial stability, role of the federal reserve, and economic climate with fellow finance practitioners and researchers.

Designed to encourage open discourse among practitioners and academics, this event features a presentation on the "Financial Stability and the Federal Reserve" by Robin Greenwood, George Gund Professor of Finance and Banking, Harvard Business School & Jeremy Stein, Moise Y. Safra Professor of Economics, Harvard University.

This event is not part of the 2017 Annual Meeting.

Presentation: "Financial Stability and the Federal Reserve"

Robin Greenwood, George Gund Professor of Finance and Banking Harvard Business School

Robin Greenwood is the George Gund Professor of Finance and Banking at Harvard Business School and the Faculty Chair of the Behavioral Finance and Financial Stability project. He works in behavioral and institutional finance, with a particular focus on "macro-level" market inefficiencies. He received a Ph.D. from Harvard in Economics, and B.S. degrees in Economics and Mathematics at MIT. He has taught in both years of the MBA curriculum as well as the PhD program. He was the chair of the Finance for Senior Executives Program, developed the Behavioral and Value Investing Elective Course, and is now the coursehead for the first semester of finance in the MBA program. He is a Research Associate at the National Bureau of Economic Research.

Jeremy Stein, Moise Y. Safra Professor of Economics, Harvard University

Jeremy C. Stein is the Moise Y. Safra Professor of Economics at Harvard University, where he teaches courses in the undergraduate and PhD programs, and serves on the board of directors of the Harvard Management Company. From May 2012 to May 2014, he was a member of the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System. Before coming to Harvard in 2000, Stein was on the finance faculty of M.I.T.'s Sloan School of Management for ten years, most recently as the J.C. Penney Professor of Management. Prior to that, he was an assistant professor of finance at the Harvard Business School from 1987-1990. He received his AB in economics summa cum laude from Princeton University in 1983 and his PhD in economics from M.I.T. in 1986.
