Associate/Vice President, Fixed Income Research Strategy

We are looking to hire an Associate/VP level Strategist to join the Fixed Income Research Strategy team in London. The role will focus on Emerging Europe, Middle East and Africa. The team was ranked #1 in the Institutional Investor survey 5 years running.

The role will involve all aspects of Strategy, including 1) statistical, financial and macro analysis 2) communicating with internal and external clients, 3) understanding the relationships between different asset classes. The demands on the analyst are sometime high and a demonstrated ability to deliver under pressure is essential.

JOB DESCRIPTION:
- Focus on a combination of FX, rates and sovereign credit strategy
- Performing research on macro variables and markets and how they interact
- Contributing to strategy publications on equity and cross asset research
- Researching relationships between markets and macro variables
- Contributing to research reports with both European and global research colleagues
- Develop and maintain complex macro models working closely with the dedicated quant resource in the team
- Marketing the ideas and output from the research to institutional clients

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
- Masters or PhD in economics, finance, statistics etc.
- Work experience - at least an internship - on the buy or sell-side

SKILLS:
- Advanced level of MS Excel
- Strong interpersonal communication skills
- Strong statistical/financial mathematical/quantitative skills are required
- Meticulous attention to detail, diligence and conscientiousness
- Proven organizational and time management skills as well as ability to work under pressure
- Capable of working effectively both independently and with multiple teams/individuals

JOB-SPECIFIC/TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES:
- Ability to develop and maintain complex financial/statistical models
- Good knowledge of global financial markets
- Keeps up to date regarding the policies, practices, trends and technology affecting the bank and his/her area/function
- Demonstrates Analytical Ability
