Minto PhD Studentship

Open to applicants who are residents of Australia, Canada, New Zealand, and Scandinavia who possess a Master's degree in Economics, the Minto Scholarship has been established with a bequest from the estate of Mr Brian Dickinson for the purpose of promoting postgraduate research in economics.

STUDENTSHIP DETAILS: This is a fully funded studentship, covering all tuition and including an annual stipend, for the PhD programme at the School of Economics in the University of Edinburgh. The School offers first-rate supervision, extensive additional training, and a supportive community of researchers. Located in the vibrant city centre of Edinburgh, the University campus provides an excellent background for the world-class teaching on offer.

ABOUT THE PROGRAMME: Our doctoral programme is structured to ensure that you receive training throughout your first year in microeconomics, macroeconomics and econometrics. You will join an active research community and participate in regular seminars, workshops and discussion groups hosted by academics of international reputation.

QUALIFICATIONS: The normal requirement for entry to the programme is a distinction in a masters in economics from a UK University or its international equivalent. If English is not your first language, you will need to demonstrate proficiency in English. In addition, all applicants' research interests must match with our own.
