Center for Audit Quality and the AAA Auditing Section Announcement
Call For Proposals for the Access to Audit Personnel Program

Deadline: Thursday, February 1, 2018

Now is the time to develop your proposal for the Access to Audit Personnel Program! Take advantage of this exciting opportunity to conduct behavioral research on issues related to audit practice with audit firm personnel as your study participants.

The Center for Audit Quality (CAQ), together with the Auditing Section of the American Accounting Association, created this program to support scholars in obtaining access to auditor participants for behavioral research. These scholars may team with more senior researchers on these projects.

PAPER SUBMISSION PROCEDURE: Click here to access the RFP (http://www.thecaq.org/access-audit-personnel-request-proposals-2018), and submit your proposal using the online application form, at: https://thecaq.co1.qualtrics.com/SE/?SID=SV_6l1vdyQrV0VZKeh&Q_JFE=0

FURTHER INFORMATION: A committee of senior academics and practitioners will evaluate proposals based on: (1) ability to address important research questions that are relevant to practice, (2) ability to contribute to academic literature, (3) methodological soundness, and (4) level and extent of resources requested. Information on the application and proposal review process can be found on the CAQ website's Access to Audit Personnel page (http://www.thecaq.org/research/access-audit-personnel-program). A CAQ Profession in Focus video interview (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4qgvGlRae40&feature=youtu.be) with University of Massachusetts-Amherst Professor Christopher Agoglia describes the proposal review process and the benefits of the program. A short video (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kJcmDJ9uGjE) on elements of a successful proposal can also be viewed on the CAQ website (http://www.thecaq.org/research).

Data collection for successful proposals may begin as early as mid-May 2018. To be considered, proposals must have a fully formed data collection instrument. Researchers can expect to have all of their data collected by Q3 2018.

Proposals are due by Thursday, February 1, 2018. Academics must complete an online application form at https://thecaq.co1.qualtrics.com/SE/?SID=SV_6l1vdyQrV0VZKeh&Q_JFE=0 and attach the proposal, data collection instrument, and other supporting materials as a single PDF or Word document.
